Acoustic decision support
Soundproofing and room-acoustic planner
Identify whether the first priority is sound isolation, internal acoustic treatment or vibration control.
Recommended planning path
Sound isolation first
The main task is to reduce sound transmission through the complete room envelope.
- Inspect all walls, ceiling, floor, doors, glazing and service penetrations
- Use a separated or resilient lining where practical
- Add dense layers with mineral-wool cavity infill
- Specify acoustic doors, seals and controlled ventilation paths
- Avoid rigid bridges and unsealed junctions
